Job title: Accountant Duration: 11/02/2020 to 04/30/2021 Work Location: Pasadena, CA 91188 Description: Accountant Reviews general ledger accounts and prepares and adjusts journal entries. Performs account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts. Maintains the general ledger chart of accounts. Assists with initial internal control evaluations. Posts monthly, quarterly and yearly accruals. Experience Level: BA in Accounting or Finance plus minimum 3 years of direct relevant experience. ENTER YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Additional Job Details Accountant - Preferred Qualifications we are looking for in a candidate: Description: Reviews general ledger accounts and prepares and adjusts journal entries. Perform account analysis and reconciliation, including intercompany general ledger accounts. Prepares financial and variance analysis reports and handles monthly/quarterly reporting for Medicaid plan partner. Maintains the general ledger chart of accounts and assists with initial internal control evaluations. Posts monthly, quarterly and yearly accruals. Performs other ad hoc projects and tasks as necessary, including but not limited to Managed Care Organizations (MCO) Tax and Hospital Quality Assurance Fee (HQAF) accounting and reconciliation. Experience in Medi-Cal reporting is preferred but not required. Experience in: 1. Review general ledger accounts and prepare and adjust journal entries. 2. Perform account analysis and reconciliation, including intercompany general ledger accounts. 3. Maintain the general ledger chart of accounts and assists with initial internal control evaluations. 4. Managed Care Organizations (MCO) Tax accounting and reconciliation 5. Hospital Quality Assurance Fee (HQAF) accounting and reconciliation Post monthly, quarterly and yearly accruals. 6. Performs other ad hoc projects/tasks as necessary. 7. Prepare financial reports 8. Perform Variance reporting 9. Working with and analyzing membership data 10. Tracking and record payments received from various Medicaid plan partners 11. Handling monthly/quarterly reporting for Medicaid plan partner 12. Perform other assigned tasks as necessary 13.
