We've developed a robotic kitchen assistant, Flippy, that can perform a variety of kitchen tasks including flipping burgers and running the deep fryer. Our product is a robotic arm on a rail that fits into existing kitchens along existing cook lines and is designed to work with existing equipment alongside kitchen workers. Under the hood, Flippy relies on our platform which combines deep learning and other computer vision technologies with optimization-based scheduling and nonlinear control to adapt quickly to a variety of kitchen workflows, while achieving graceful and efficient motion.The challenge of bringing robotics into commercial kitchens requires many disciplines to come together. You will also be one of Miso Robotics' Subject Matter Experts when it comes to troubleshooting our fleet of robots. Your role is a hybrid position consisting mostly of testing but mechanical support and troubleshooting is needed. You will get the opportunity to work closely with our customers and other engineers to be the main point of contact for escalation.Additional Information: The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Miso Robotics, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting. The pay is determined by job related skills, training, education, and experience.What You'll Do
You will become Robot Systems trained to become a Miso Robotics Systems, Subject Matter Expert.
Become Escalation Technical Support for the Flippy product lines.Technical resource for emergency on-site triage or installation supportDevelop, train and support Preventive Maintenance programs & effortsWork with cross-functional teams to foresee possible failure modes and design specific tests and test fixtures to analyze these potential issues. - -Build and test the hardware subsystems and full systems to their limits. If (and when) it breaks, work with cross-functional teams to analyze the failure and improve the product line.Work with hardware, software, electrical and test engineers to build and execute system verification and validation tests for new software and hardware releases.Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to document and improve on current processes. Complete quality control assessments on projects and provide direct feedback and solutions. -Participate in proof-of-concept development, demos, and post-deployment support of cross-team integration efforts.Design hardware components to support the ongoing improvements for Miso's products. -Create or update all documentation (including but not limited to manuals and checklists) for Installation and Preventative and Corrective Maintenance activities. -Assemble general and client-specific usage and training documentation, including drawings, system notes, manuals, agendas, and perform client training.Translate business process requirements into detailed technical specificationsOther duties assignedAbility to work weekends at times, as the schedule varies depending on operational needs; flexibility is required.Travel is required. You will be expected to travel over 25% of the time.Support assembly activities on-site, including lifting up to 50 pounds (if needed and with help of others).Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field required.3+ years of experience required. -Experience with interpreting functional, electrical, and mechanical diagrams.Experience in writing documentation. -Experience with optics and/or computer vision is a plus.Experience with robotics is preferred.Experience in a testing environment.Experience with linux systems, Git, and Github.Ability to work in our HQ in Pasadena, CA. -Preferred Requirements
