Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for reviewing assigned tasks, leading and instructing bookkeeping staff and working closely with and reporting to managers and partners on projects assigned. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, highly motivated and a team player

Duties:

• Direct, instruct and train bookkeepers and staff, as appropriate
• Review and reconcile client provided financial information and propose adjustments where applicable
• Review financial statements and work papers prepared by staff and direct staff to make necessary revisions
• Actively participate in clients' accounting processes
• Review monthly and quarterly bookkeeping & write up work
• Review and supervise filing of clients' Forms 1099
• Review and supervise filing of clients' Business Property Tax statements (Form 571-L)
• Review and supervise filing of clients' payroll tax returns
• Review and supervise filing of clients' sales tax returns
• Assist with clients' year-end audit
• Meet time constraints and client deadlines
• Actively participate in planning and scheduling of client engagements
• Perform other duties and ad hoc projects (including other departments') as may be assignedRequired Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred, not required
  • At least four (4) years of experience in public accounting or related field, with strong accounting background
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
