Job Description:
Description:The Product Support Manager coordinates all
activities to support implementation and manage supply cost of all
Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) agreements for medical supplies
and equipment. Service Area responsibility includes all departments
within the hospital and medical offices. Assists with the
management of materials cost and utilization of best practices.
Ensures compliance with all (GPO) agreements. Responsible for
achieving all Service Area and National Contracting and Purchasing
(NCAP) cost savings goals. Works with the Materials Director to
identify and achieve cost savings and implement safety products.
Essential Functions:- Supports National Contracting and Purchasing
(NCAP) and Service Area goals including: Manages and facilitates
adherence to $1billion annual GPO contract spend. Identifies and
implements Product Utilization savings to achieve annual
utilization savings goal. - Compliance monitoring, analyzing, and
reporting to achieve 98.50% compliance to all Group Purchasing
Organization (GPO) agreements. Implements all GPO agreements within
NCAP 90 day goal to maximize cost savings. - Manages Medical
Product Formulary exception process. - Assists in reducing overall
supply cost through analyzing product use and making
recommendations to change product or implement best practice
Conducts and facilitates service area and statewide product
evaluations. - Participates on National Sourcing and Standard Teams
(SST). - Works closely with GPO Product Managers to manage,
implement, and enforce compliance to all agreements. - Project
Manager taking a lead role in managing all activities to
effectively implement all Group Purchasing Organization (GPO)
contracts including: Supports implementation of $55M annual GPO
contract spend for NCALRegion. - Identify Service Area scope and
impact of conversion. - Develop service area wide and statewide
implementation project plan. - Facilitate education and inservice
Manage timeline to meet NCAP goal. - Identify and implement product
utilization and cost savings. - Conducts trend analysis and
compliance reporting. - Supports annual supply cost savings goals
of Supply Cost Oversight Group (SCOG) by consulting, communicating,
and implementing recommendations. - Working with physicians and
managers, analyzes and organizes key information necessary to
influence product use, enforce standards, and control spend.-
Conducts research into and recommends corrective action for
supplier and product issues. - Supports physicians and other health
care provider peer groups in standardization efforts. - Actively
participate and present key information to the Local Product
Councils, Regional Product Council, Physician groups, Material
Services and Perioperative Cost Savings groups to comply with and
enforce national standards, trend spend, identify and implement
cost savings opportunities. - Conducts data analysis to evaluate
practice patterns.- Ensure excellent customer satisfaction levels
maintained. Basic Qualifications: Experience - Minimum of five (5)
years experience in health care and or supply chain related
experience required. Education - Bachelor's degree in business
administration, nursing background and/or certification, finance,
material management, economics or related field, OR four (4) years
of experience in a directly related field.- High School Diploma or
General Education Development (GED) required. License,
Certification, Registration - N/A Additional Requirements:-
Proficient in a variety of software applications with the ability
to develop complex spreadsheets and write business communications.-
Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills.-
Significant knowledge of products/services and their market
environment.- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management
Partnership environment. Preferred Qualifications:- Professional
certification such as a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
preferred.- Specific knowledge of medical and non-medical products
