Job Description:

CALSTART is seeking a technical and results-oriented Technical Project Manager (PM) who will play a critical role in managing CALSTART's projects focused on the advancement of medium- and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. The Technical Project Manager will support CALSTART's truck technology strategy and industry partnerships workstreams, performing quantitative analysis, modeling, research, and technical reporting for a variety of internal and external audiences and clients. Additionally, the Technical Project Manager will: Employ Excel, R, and Python software to perform quantitative analyses and code web applications Assess market-transformational needs across technology platforms and infrastructure strategies Contribute to strategy development and evaluation of emerging vehicle and infrastructure technologies Foster partnership development and provide technical guidance to industry and government officials Develop technical guidance and resources for zero-emission truck end-users Perform outreach, analysis, and graphic visualization for Technology and Market Readiness Metrics About CALSTART We are a nationally and internationally recognized clean transportation industry organization with offices in multiple states. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental sustainability, or other related field 2+ years of experience working with transportation or utility industry supporting EV deployments and charging infrastructure 2+ years of direct project management experience Knowledge of the advanced transportation industry, zero-emission vehicles, and electric charging/hydrogen refueling infrastructure Excellent written skills in report generation, grant proposals, and research development Strong partnership development and stakeholder engagement skills Proven ability to synthesize large amounts of data into clear understandable language for stakeholders and other interested parties Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills Strong ability to meet or exceed deadlines and able to work with minimal supervision or direction Proven ability to multitask and handle complexity Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Desired Skills and Experience Advanced degrees and certifications in engineering, data science, technology, and/or business Specific sector knowledge of and expertise in advanced transportation technologies and fuels including electricity, hydrogen, fuel cells, and energy storage Basic knowledge of certifications, standards, and relevant state and local codes, specifically related to charging and zero-emission medium and heavy-duty vehicles Knowledge of R, Python, SQL, and other relevant industry analysis, modeling, and simulation tools Exceptional presentation and communication skills Salary and Benefits Competitive annual salary based on experience Performance-based growth opportunities Competitive company-paid health plan that includes dental and vision care Retirement plan with a generous company contribution Employee Incentive Program (bonus) yearly based on performance Telecommuting and flexible work hours as appropriate Rewards for alternative commuting to and from work Committed to employee growth and development If you are up to this challenge, we invite you to apply for this role.
