COMPANY is seeking a Vice President of Operations for our WEST region. The WEST region currently consists of ten (10) offices, which include approximately 350 employees and $30M to $40M in total revenue. The Vice President’s primary responsibility is to effectively provide overall executive leadership and operations management of the WEST region. This position will lead business and client development; manage financial performance and growth; develop and implement the annual Business Plan; lead all staff; and supervise and mentor the region’s Operational Principals and Directors. The Vice President will also work with the CEO and COO in developing strategic growth plans that sustainably diversify market sectors, client base, and geography. The individual will also work to expand COMPANY's professional reputation in environmental consulting by providing senior-level technical assistance on projects in his or her area of expertise. This position will be part of the COMPANY Senior Operations Leadership team and report to the President and Chief Operating Officer. Please include a Letter of Interest with your resume. What you will accomplish Provide overall leadership and management of the regional operations. Develop strong management teams in each office in the region. Serve on the Senior Operations Leadership team, and help develop and implement regional and company-wide strategic initiatives. Be responsible for financial performance and manage the profit and loss statement for the WEST region. Develop and oversee market growth strategies and business development. Recruit, train and mentor employees; manage personnel issues. Ensure superior client service and that all projects achieve quality, schedule, and budget objectives; and interact with WEST region’s largest clients and highest growth potential clientele. Supervise the safety program and lead a safety culture in the region. Prepare the annual Business Plan and assist with achieving COMPANY’s company-wide financial business development goals and objectives. Work closely with the other Vice Presidents, COO, Principals, and Directors throughout the company to promote COMPANY’s business interests; develop new work and clients; and foster our mission, vision, and values. Assist the CEO, COO, and Vice President of Business Development with building relationships with select acquisition targets; and support the COO and CFO with integration of WEST region acquisitions. Build COMPANY’s professional reputation within the region and work collaboratively with other leaders throughout the company. Take initiative, resolve problems, and create and improve procedures to assure effective and smooth operation of the offices and provide QA/QC oversight. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the COO. Experience and qualifications for success Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Studies, Planning, Biology, Ecology, Archaeology, Anthropology, Engineering, Management or related field required; Graduate degree strongly preferred. Management and leadership experience and skills, including the ability to grow the region by developing and implementing effective business development strategies and management of other professionals. Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in natural or cultural resource consulting, planning, science, or a related field; exceptions to this item may be possible depending on other qualities the individual possesses. Minimum of five (5) years of experience at increasing levels of responsibility in management, including supervising and providing leadership for other professionals. Demonstrated business acumen and successful operations leadership. Demonstrated performance and achievement in business development and leading successful market growth strategies. Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Sensitivity to and respect for our diverse workforce and culture. Must live in or be willing to relocate to one of the regional office locations.
