The essential functions include: Supervise overnight healthcare and protect clients while in their care. Transcribe orders, receive verbal orders as needed and send order to pharmacy per department protocols Administer medications as directed according to agency policy Administer first aid as needed Obtain and maintain CPR instructors certification in order to train Hillsides overnight employees in CPR/ First Aid and AED Track clients lab orders and prepare lab requisitions weekly Review/prepare and distribute special menus in collaboration with Director. Assess clients who have returned to campus after being out of supervision. Create care plan and document according to agency policy. Audit cottages for first aid supplies and cleanliness monthly. Maintain nurses' medication and treatment room in audit ready condition. Participate in programs designed to help clients accept their medical conditions and handle them appropriately if indicated Use appropriate authority to set limits for behavior while clients are in the nurses' office Maintain complete, accurate records of all medications administered as outlined in agency policy Learn and become familiar with Hillsides' pharmacy record keeping and legalities involved Prepare and distribute memos as needed Maintain client charts as needed- filing pertinent doctor appointments and psychiatric notes. Scan medical documents into EMR system, Direct /Assist in overnight medical emergency situations, may assist transporting clients for emergency treatment as needed/indicated. Weigh and measure clients if applicable during shift, maintain records per policy. Other duties as required EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES Valid California LVN license CPR Certification High degree of accuracy Valid California driver's license, driving record and personal vehicle insurance acceptable to Hillsides' insurance carrier TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE (TIC) Hillsides practices Trauma Informed Care (TIC) principles which recognizes the signs, symptoms, and widespread impact of trauma; Employees are asked to comprehensively integrate knowledge of Trauma Informed Care into policies, procedures, and practices with the goal to prevent re-traumatization which promotes healing of families, youth, individuals, and communities.
