Job Description Executive Director / Nursing Home Administrator
(NHA) We are seeking an experienced Executive Director / Nursing
Home Administrator (NHA) to lead a not-for-profit skilled nursing
and rehabilitation facility. This is a senior leadership
opportunity for a strategic, financially astute administrator who
is passionate about resident-centered care and organizational
growth. Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees , the Executive
Director will provide visionary leadership while ensuring
operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and financial

by purpose as much as performance. Key Responsibilities Leadership
& Organizational Management Provide strategic leadership aligned
with the organization’s mission and values Lead, mentor, and
evaluate department heads and senior staff Foster a collaborative,
ethical, and resident-focused culture Drive continuous quality
improvement and resident satisfaction Oversee recruitment,
retention, and workforce planning Ensure appropriate staffing
levels and regulatory compliance Regulatory Compliance & Risk
Management Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local
long-term care regulations (CMS, state licensing, OSHA) Lead survey
readiness efforts and manage regulatory inspections and audits
Oversee risk management, incident reporting, and safety initiatives
Financial Oversight & Operational Performance Develop and manage
the annual operating budget Oversee financial reporting, cost
controls, and revenue cycle performance Improve payer mix with a
focus on increasing Medicare census Manage productivity metrics,
reduce overtime, and improve PPD performance Collaborate with the
Board on long-term financial sustainability Resident Care &
Services Ensure delivery of high-quality, person-centered care
across all service lines Support interdisciplinary care planning
and individualized resident experiences Address resident and family
concerns with professionalism and compassion Community Engagement &
Board Relations Serve as the organization’s ambassador to community
partners and stakeholders Support fundraising and community
outreach initiatives Provide regular operational, financial, and
quality reports to the Board Participate in board meetings,
committees, and strategic planning efforts Compensation: $155,000 –
$180,000/yr (Depending on experience) Performance-based bonus up to
$10,000 Generous benefits package including over 5 weeks of paid
time off Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare
Administration, Business, or related field Current Nursing Home
Administrator (NHA) license (or eligible and willing to obtain)
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a licensed Nursing Home
Administrator Strong knowledge of long-term care operations and CMS
regulations Demonstrated financial management and budgeting
experience Preferred Master’s degree (MHA, MBA, MPH, or related)
Experience in a not-for-profit long-term care environment Proven
success improving payer mix and operational efficiency Familiarity
with person-centered care and culture-change models This role is
