Chemotherapy certification Description: This position requires
chemotherapy certification. The schedule is 4x10 days, Monday
through Friday, with Wednesday off. It involves 70% oncology-based
therapy and 30% blood transfusion, IVIG, hydration, and iron
administration. First-timers are accepted if they have a
chemotherapy certification and 2 or more years of experience. The
nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. No weekends are required. The
candidate must float between like units. The facility has a daily
census of approximately 85 patients. The unit handles a variety of
infusion therapies. Interdisciplinary support includes social
services, pharmacy, and unit secretary. The nurse will manage and
administer chemotherapy, monitor side effects, and handle cytotoxic
spills. Basic phlebotomy skills are required. The nurse will work
with patients of all ages, including adolescents, adults, and
geriatrics. The unit conducts a wide range of infusion therapies,
including those for blood transfusions and hydration. This role may
involve recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values. The
facilities are expected to supply providers with necessary
communication devices for the assignment. Completion of required
modules is expected as part of the job. Requirements Required for
