Job Description:
TransForce, a leader in CDL staffing and compliance, is seeking
experienced and reliable CDL A Port Drivers to join our team. The
successful candidate will be responsible for the transportation of
goods to and from port facilities, ensuring timely and safe
delivery. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial
role in maintaining the efficiency of our clients supply chains and
upholding the high safety standards of our company. Safely operate
a tractor-trailer to transport goods to and from various port
locations. Inspect containers and handle all cargo with care to
prevent damage. Maintain accurate logs of all transportation
activities using electronic log devices (ELD). Comply with all
local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies
related to safety and driving. Coordinate with dispatchers to
manage schedules and routes efficiently. Conduct pre-trip and
post-trip inspections to ensure proper functioning of the vehicle
and equipment. Report any incidents or irregularities encountered
on the road to management. Assist in loading and unloading cargo as
necessary, adhering to all safety guidelines. Proficient in
operating tractor-trailers and other large vehicles. Strong
knowledge of safety practices and traffic laws. Ability to handle
unexpected situations such as traffic delays, weather conditions,
and mechanical issues. Good communication and interpersonal skills
for interacting with dispatchers and other personnel. Basic
troubleshooting skills for identifying minor mechanical issues.
Ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules. 401k
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). TWIC card
(Transportation Worker Identification Credential) preferred but not
required. A clean driving record.
