Job Description Job Description Position Summary The Logistics
Engineer is responsible for providing the management team with data
reports, new business and renewal pricing, marketing principles,
and ad hoc business support requests. Job Responsibilities Process
and product engineering: Support development and deployment of
Logistics, Warehouse and Supply Chain Management processes with
analytics and Kaizen efforts, Analyze, review and optimize
logistics processes, Monitor and benchmark Logistics Key
Performance Indicator systems Create floor plans and process flows
Collaborate directly with various internal and external
stakeholders to conduct end to end process assessments Analyze
processes to identify re-engineering opportunities which will
create efficiencies and/or enhance controls Identify opportunities
to leverage intelligent automation solutions to increase process
efficiency and reduce risk Effectively plan and coordinate
implementing process changes enabling teams to realize efficiencies
or control enhancements Create highly effective presentation
materials to communicate status updates to executive management
Operational Stabilization and Transition for Logistics Performance
Issues Support local operational stabilization activities as
required to support internally or externally identified performance
issues Act as a neutral interface between IDC operations and client
to drive operational improvements as needed Develop base case and
root cause analysis Work with local operations to identify and
prioritize action items or improvement initiatives Support the
implementation of improvement initiatives Monitor improvement
initiatives to ensure expected results. Perform time studies,
confirm, and document productivity assumptions used in the analysis
of business models for internal and external customers Perform
other tasks and ad hoc requests that may be assigned Customer
facing tasks (present solutions and explain models) Re-engineering
of solutions to support operations and maximize company profit
Business Process Improvement / Kaizen Support Operations as needed
in implementing and monitoring Total Quality programs and Kaizen
methodology to drive business process improvement activities Assist
local operations in identifying and prioritizing local and
nationwide logistics initiatives Identify and implement cost
improvement opportunities Identification of inventory improvement
initiatives Assist in identification of IT improvement initiatives
to support operations Support internal business case development
for logistics initiatives Monitor to ensure area operational
compliance with best practices and processes Knowledge Related to
Logistics IT Portfolio Experience related to logistics systems
capabilities, with focus on WMS and Transloading systems, to serve
as bridge between the operations and IT portfolio organization.
Support functional development initiatives for systems
(business-driven), Project-driven analytics for conversion of
business requirements into IT requirements, Implementation support
– support Logistics process and IT migration design for
implementation of new client engagements and business expansion
with existing customers including the following: Support
implementation activities associated with operational improvement
initiatives, lead where assigned. Ensure implementations align with
current defined operational best practices and standard processes
Monitor budget and timelines related to logistics implementations
Implement standardized quality programs and continuous improvement
methodology (Kaizen) as part of local implementations Ensure
required reporting and KPI’s align with current operational best
practices and local capabilities Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field is required. Three to five years
warehouse/logistics pricing experience Experience managing RFI/RFP
responses Experience engaging directly with customers on various
project assignments Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and project management skills Highly motivated
and able to complete tasks with limited management supervision.
Essential Job Functions To perform this job successfully, an
individual must have proficient knowledge Microsoft Office products
including Office, Outlook, and Excel. Leadership and Mentoring
Skills Ability to supervise and direct the work of project teams
Strong problem-solving abilities Ability to perform well with
time-sensitive tasks Capability to perform under pressure Travel
Ability to drive long distances and/or travel overnight as
