Job Description Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Local Class A Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to deliver freight efficiently within local routes. Your expertise in driving various types of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks, will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities Safely operate a variety of commercial trucks, including manual transmission tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity and safety. Execute route driving efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for each trip. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries and address any route or vehicle issues promptly. Assist with securing loads on flatbeds or other specialized trailers as needed. Skills Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on local deliveries and route driving. Strong knowledge of manual transmission operation and handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or manual techniques. Excellent driving record with a solid understanding of commercial driving regulations. Familiarity with load securement procedures for various freight types including freight requiring special handling like refrigerated goods or tanker liquids. Physical capability to handle the demands of truck driving including lifting heavy loads when necessary. Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatch and warehouse teams.
