The company offering this terrific short-term temporary opportunity is based in the Pasadena, California region and provides rewards for hard work. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. Be prepared to dedicate a fair amount of time to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, your will also be in charge of many aspects of internal reporting. You'll also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, take part in compliance, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. How you will make an impact - Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation - Be a part of various department-wide initiatives - Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner - Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings - Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation - Maintain monthly payment schedules - Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision - Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll - Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requestedJob Requirements:- Bank reconciliations experience - Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required - Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity - Great attention to detail - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics - Recent and relevant accounting experience - Skilled with ERP systems - Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases - Competent with spreadsheets and databases - Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges - Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"Accountemps, a Robert Half Company, matches skilled accounting and finance professionals with remote or on-site jobs on a temporary and temporary-to-hire basis.
