Responsible for assisting the Department Manager in supervising,
planning, coordinating and evaluating patient care and employee
performance. Ensures effective unit operation and supports staff
with challenging issues, assists with care coordination and serves
as first line on-site support/resource for employees, physicians
and patients. Meets all job requirements of the Registered Nurse.
This position requires flexibility of hours.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Master’s of Science
in Nursing required. Master’s Degree preferred. Diploma or
transcripts on highest degree earned required.
Experience/Training: Minimum 3 years clinical experience, 5
years preferred, with 2 years of current experience in area of
expertise/equivalent service area; leadership experience
Licenses/Certifications: Current active unrestricted RN license
issued by State of California. Current American Heart Association
BLS Provider required. Ortho Certification, preferred.
Skills: Demonstrates leadership and management skills and
abilities; excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
Demonstrates flexibility when faced with a fast-paced and changing
work environment. Is a proactive team player and enjoys working in
a collaborative work setting. Excellent written and verbal
communication skills. Exemplary organization, time management and
problem solving skills. Ability to manage multiple activities and
priorities within complex systems. Ability to work with all levels
of personnel and disciplines to achieve positive patient outcomes.
Competency to utilize computer systems including Health Information
System and Office applications at an intermediate level is
expected. Strong Clinical Skills. Focuses on orthopedic Matrix and
coordinates with Joint Coordinator in improving matrix and Program
Development as needed. Promotes cooperation; assures effective and
appropriate coordination of care between nursing and therapies.
