Maxar is currently seeking a Subcontracts Manager to join our team in Pasadena, CA

Your Project: In this role, you will manage the procurement team that manages suppliers on Government programs and supports proposal submittals to the Government. You will be responsible for all phases of the procurement life cycle and will ensure compliance to contract terms and federal regulations for all procurements. In order to be successful in this role, you must have a broad array of experience in product development and production procurements on Government programs.

What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):

  • Ensure that all procured parts and services are delivered on time to the requisite quality and technical performance requirements at a reasonable cost to meet program/company objectives.

  • Manage suppliers and supply chain staff to meet company objectives.

  • Compete suppliers and/or negotiate supplier cost, quality, schedule, and technical performance requirements, and terms and conditions.

  • Manage metrics for the Supply Chain organization to measure and achieve on time delivery of parts and services. Communicate status and results to key stakeholders.

  • Develop, present and implement action plans based on metric results.

  • Provide input to corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, processes, templates, checklists and training materials covering all aspects of Supply Chain operations and administration.

  • Lead and/or participate in lean manufacturing/business operations efforts to identify and implement company process and efficiency improvements.

  • Provide leadership to teams by setting goals that align to company objectives and development plans and manage personnel through coaching and mentoring.

  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement, professional growth and cross functional collaboration.

  • Hire and retain a qualified staff and provide ongoing performance feedback, direction, and effective corrective actions.

  • Ensure that company passes DCMA Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR), as well as internal and external audits.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and audit requirements, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS), NASA FAR Supplement (NFS), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Truthful Cost or Pricing Data/Truth in Negotiation Act (TINA).

Minimum requirements for this position:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, economics, or a related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience at a Government contracting company

  • Minimum of 3 years of functional lead, supervisory, or management experience

  • Experience successfully passing a DCMA Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR)

These skills would be amazing:

  • Aerospace or Robotics industry experience

  • Lean six sigma process improvement experience

  • Experience leading Kaizen events

  • Deltek CostPoint or SAP experience

  • Experience developing policies, procedures, work instructions, templates, and checklists

  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience

  • Experience developing flow down terms and conditions for purchase orders and subcontracts

  • Possess strong, fluent, and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
