Huntington Hospital Perioperative Training
Huntington Hospital's Perioperative Training
Program will include several months of didactic and
clinical hours the equivalent of 6 months with an additional 6
months of orientation.
Training includes all basics of perioperative practice,
including orientation in sterile processing, anesthesia practices,
aseptic and sterile practices (room cleaning, opening sterile
field, scrubbing, gowning, gloving, etc.), preoperative patient
preparation, post-operative patient care and nursing expectations,
scrubbing basic surgeries competently, and competence in
circulating responsibilities ranging from patient safety, advocacy,
and assessment to room set-up to maintaining efficient case
Candidates may be new graduates from an accredited school
of nursing, or have experience in another specialty

Job Description - Operating Room RN:
Responsible for coordination of care to meet identified needs of
the patient/family. Supervises the management of patient care
utilizing critical thinking and nursing process, discharge
planning, resource identification, linking and scheduling patients
with required services, monitoring care delivery, advocating for
the patient, care planning and evaluating outcomes. Coordinates
patient care across the health care continuum, and assists other
team members with meeting individual patient needs.
This position may require flexibility of hours.
This position requires the ability to take on-call for patients
requiring emergency procedures.
BSN or MSN is required
Current active unrestricted RN license issued by State of
