This includes diversity, equity, inclusion and culture.ArtCenter College of Design's department of Illustration is seeking to build its pool of adjunct faculty in the Entertainment Arts Track to teach a variety of classes, with a particular interest in animation, landscape painting, architectural matte painting, figure drawing and digital painting within a multi-disciplinary art and design context with a diverse group of undergraduate students. -This position includes part-time teaching responsibilities and occasional administrative service which may include, faculty and student mentoring and advising, scholarship and portfolio student reviews, and attending departmental and College all-hands meetings.Beginning fall term 2021, the College will require all persons who want to access the physical campus in person to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. We will also continue to require face coverings, physical distancing, hygiene and sanitation measures as an extra layer of protection against COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses.Reports to: Department ChairFLSA status: Non-exempt How to Apply

    • Strong drawing and painting skills
    • 5 years or more experience in traditional animation and/or storyboarding
    • Understanding of historical and contemporary figurative drawing
    • Understanding of architectural art history
    • Understanding of color theory
    • Experience with digital media (fluent in Maya)
    • Experienced landscape painter
    • Teaching experience preferredEssential Functions
      • Prepare course materials (syllabus, lesson plan, handouts and demonstrations)
      • Teach appropriate content in the program as needed
      • Respond to student questions and concerns
      • Provide valuable and insightful critique to student's work
