Senior Technical Program Manager
Job Description and Requirements
- Drive optical systems and optical product development services
sales
- Interface with customers on optical systems and optical product
development projects
- Oversee, coordinate, and lead a dynamic team of engineers and
subcontractors to deliver a multitude of optical systems and
optical product development projects on-time and on-budget in a
manner that exceeds our clients' expectations
- Develop and foster authentic, long-lasting relationships with
clients and further develop business opportunities
- Prepare written proposals, statements of work, and budgets
- Act as the main point of contact for your clients and be
responsible for all project/program related items
- Possess the technical abilities and skills to guide a
multidisciplinary team of engineers in all aspects of multiple
project
- Analyze complex systems and architect solutions in
collaboration with engineering teams.
- Learn and adopt relevant new technologies, tools, methods, and
processes
- Establish infrastructure for muti-disciplinary program
management, sub-contractor management and sales operations of
optical systems engineering and optical product development
services
- Assist in defining and implementing program management
standards, processes and methodologies
- Develop operational metrics to track resource loading, project
progress and performance
- Manage technical specification development for external client
projects in collaboration with internal engineering
consultants
- Develop and maintain resource planning for support of ongoing
and new initiatives
- Maintain effective communication with all partnering functions
and management to ensure program success
- Lead by example and have a deep commitment to the
organizational goals
- Drive resolution of cross-functional issues impacting all
programs
- Qualify new subcontractor engineering service and manufacturing
partnersRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation
skills
- Excellent program management skills
- Detail oriented, highly organized, and decisive
- Proven ability to plan, organize, lead, and monitor a wide
variety of team efforts to successful completion
- Excellent technical and operational problem-solving skills
- Expert-level knowledge of regulatory, laboratory and
manufacturing requirements related to the assigned project
- Expert-level knowledge of best practices in program management,
CRM, order management, and inventory infrastructure solutions and
methodologies in the context of engineering services and contract
manufacturing.
- Management of complex systems engineering requirements in
systems such as DOORS
- Proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of
personnel, internal and external; building trust, gaining
consensus, and resolving conflicts
* Proven ability to supervise and drive multiple projects /
assignments simultaneously
* Proven ability to resolve a wide range of operational issues
* Excellent creative problem-solving abilities, coupled with a
desire to take on responsibility
Experience/Education/Certification:
- US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED: Current security clearance or ability
to obtain one.
- Minimum of 12 years of working experience in program management
across multiple disciplines including optics
- Experience in developing and nurturing effective high-level
internal and/or external customer relationships
- Experience in supervising and driving complex programs and
initiatives
- Experience in driving infrastructure processes and
infrastructure development
- Prior experience in managing multi-disciplinary product
development teams involving system trade-off decisions, error
budget allocation, hardware design (including optical systems) and
software/firmware development
- Prior Experience with engineering document control best
practices for hardware engineering, hardware manufacturing, and
software product development
- Experience in optical systems product development,
manufacturing, and QA/QC for government, commercial, medical and
consumer markets
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 certification and QA/QC best
practices for both services and manufacturing.
- Experience in meeting FDA, CE, UL, and aerospace application
product requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's (MS or PhD preferred) in engineering or
science discipline.
