SHAREPOINT MIGRATION SPECIALIST Sierra Cybernetics is seeking a SharePoint Migration Specialist to work for us assisting our City of Pasadena client. This is a short-term three to six months project aimed at migrating from SharePoint 2013 to the latest version of SharePoint or SharePoint Online. This is open to US citizens, green card holders, and H1-B visa holders. The first week will be on-site at the Pasadena City IT office, then remote thereafter. The current SharePoint 2013 environment consists of 13 site collections, 22 subsites, and over 300 personal sites. All sites use the Records Center SharePoint template. The ECMS includes a significant amount of content - a total of over 850,000 documents using approximately 1TB of total disk space. A federated version of Gimmal Records Management (a 3rd party SharePoint product) is installed and in use to manage the retention policies for the documents. The primary goal of the project is to migrate the ECMS site collections and documents to the latest supported version of SharePoint, while retaining document security and retention policies managed by the Gimmal Records Management product. We want to improve the ECMS solution in several ways. This includes improved search on large documents, integrating Adobe Sign locked documents, and automation of document organization based on meta data properties. The ideal candidate should have experience with O365 SharePoint (modern SharePoint), SharePoint 2013, Gimmal Records Management, GCC version of O365, SharePoint migrations, ShareGate (migration tool), and Power Automate. Responsibilities: Collaborate with project team to assess the current ECMS SharePoint 2013 environment to determine the best path forward to either migrate all sites to a new SharePoint 2019 server on prem or to the city's Office 365 SharePoint Online environment. Deliver planning documentation on migration strategy that takes into consideration the Current System, Latest Microsoft O365 features, Enhancements, Gimmal Records Management, Security, Backup/Recovery, Search, Ease of Use, Automation. Assist project team in architecting the new ECMS system, including SharePoint site setup, configuration of modern SharePoint document libraries, Power Automate flows to automate routing of documents based on file properties, etc. Participate in verifying all content has been migrated, functionality and search tools are working as expected, and that users across all involved departments are able to access and use the new SharePoint environment. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience with:GCC version of O365 O365 SharePoint (modern version) SharePoint migrations Power Automate Experience with Gimmal Records Management Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
