has an opening for a Sr Principal Embedded Software Engineer (IPT
Lead) with an active clearance, to join our team of qualified,
diverse individuals. This position will be in Northridge, CA. The
IPT Lead reports to the Advanced Weapons Chief Engineer and is
responsible for leading multiple software teams for development
activities. As an integral part of our multi-discipline engineering
team in Advanced Weapons, you will be on the forefront of
developing next generation solutions to protect technology for our
nation's warfighters. The ideal candidate will be supporting one of
our programs for defining and architecting a secured missile weapon
system. This position will require close collaboration with team
members of other projects within the organization for security
architecture designs as well as external partners and customers.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Lead engineering teams supporting Flight Software and Ground
Support Equipment Software.
- Manage the entire Software development efforts.
- Plan, organize, and manage technical activities.
- Serve as a Cost Account Management (CAM) and present to
senior-level management on cost, schedule, and technical risks and
opportunities.
- Perform integration and development hardware systems.
- Promote a collaborative environment between different
disciplines and organizations resulting in teams that can
effectively solve problems as the arise and proactively prevent
things from becoming issues.Relocation assistance, while not
guaranteed, may be available. The selected candidate for this
position is required to be on-site in Northridge, CA. Basic
qualifications for a Sr Principal Embedded Software Engineer level
(T05): -
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering
or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related engineering
experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years
of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline
with 6 years of related engineering experience.
- Experience leading an engineering team or project.
- Previous Cost Account Management (CAM) & EVMS duties and
responsibilities.
- Risk/Opportunity/Issue management experience related to complex
hardware and software subsystems.
- Experience with integration of electronics into a system of
systems.Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Dod Secret clearance.
- The ability to obtain an SAP clearance.
- Experience with complex issue resolution with internal and
external stakeholders.
- Experience with Flight Software.
- Extensive experience with software and system
architecture.Salary Range: $131,100 - $196,700The above salary
range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman
considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers
such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the
candidate's experience, education, skills and current market
conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for
overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition
to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage,
life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays
and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The
