Description Kforce has a client in search of a Benefits Specialist in Pasadena, California (CA). Essential Job Functions: Enhance and maintain customer focus through delivery of benefit education services in the Region by meeting the needs of represented and non-represented employees through group employee meetings and individual counseling during key or critical events such as new hire, change in status, continuing education, tuition reimbursement, retirement, off work leave, death, RIFs, etc. Provides trend information, interpretations, alternatives and analytical support to the Service Area, Legal, National Employee Benefit Programs, National HR Service Center and other HR staff Provides sound interpretation and application of HR policies, collective bargaining agreements and law when answering employee questions Collaborates and coordinates with NEBP, NHRSC, external departments/other areas to ensure proper execution of benefits plans/programs and related policies Manages the Continuing Education Tuition Reimbursement (CETR) Database and Program Case Manage the CETR application submissions via CRM and Education Fund Database Prepares weekly continuing education claims for manager's and/or director's approval for payment Prepares bi-weekly tuition reimbursement claims BDL file for manager's and/or director's approval for payment Queries to audit and validate performance across CETR area and communicates findings that document performance concerning: a. Policy Guidelines (i.e. expense vs. TR) are followed CETR Benefit allocation (i.e. new hire, union vs. non-union allotment) Overpayments d. Case Management capture notes, and inbound/outbound calls logged via 360 Call Interaction Case Manage the CETR application submissions via CRM and Education Fund Database Employee Voluntary Benefits' Audits monthly invoices against query results Prepares check request for manager's signature Requirements GED or High School diploma required Bachelor's degree preferred PHR certification preferred Two years of experience in human resources Preferred Work Experience: Four years of experience in a Human Resources environment preferred Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Case Management, HRIS, Query, and Kronos for purpose of analyzing data and production reports preferred; demonstrated ability to learn and use software to perform analyses User knowledge of mainframe and/or PC database, word processing and statistical analysis software preferred Knowledge of benefits administration, federal Knowledge of IRS regulations as they relate to taxable and non-taxable educational items Understands team dynamics Strong writing skills Possession of interpersonal skills that inspire trust and confidence Innovative and flexible Expertise in proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access database management, database reporting Effective communication and presentation skills Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and good attention to detail Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines Ability to be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to assume other duties and responsibilities as departmental objectives and requirements change Kforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
