Provides direct patient care service on a patient-centered care unit as determined by the patient's plan of care and supervised by a Registered Nurse or LIP. This position may require flexibility of hours.

Experience/Training:

One year of prior experience in clinical patient care in an acute care setting (certification in an allied health field may be substituted for the one year experience requirement). Basic computer skills/experience with computerized documentation systems preferred. Knowledge/experience with use of medical terminology.

Education:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency.

Licenses/Certifications:

Current American Heart Association BLS Course C. MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) required within 30 days of hire or transfer. Must be renewed annually.

Skills:

Must be able and willing to take direction from a variety of staff members - sometimes with conflicting directions and deadlines. Must be willing and able to work in a face paced, frequently changing environment. Must be willing and able to multi-task effectively to accomplish work assignments. Use of Lift Equipment.
