POSITION SUMMARY: The Receiving Clerk is a member of a DSN Logistics Facility (DLF) team that is currently the focal point for moving and controlling the materials and equipment required to operate and maintain the three Deep Space Communication Complexes (DSCC) and facilities. The Receiving clerk receives all inbound materials received from vendors, GDSCC, and JPL and sorts accordingly. MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

• Loads and unloads shipments at shipping and receiving area.
• Transports materials and items from receiving dock to storage or other designated areas by hand, dolly, and forklift or pallet jack.
• Opens packages, crates and other containers using hand tools.
• Counts and records quantity of materials or items received.
• Prepares discrepancy documents
• Maintain a voucher log and receipts
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or bins according.
• Pick up and deliver to customer items from internal & external sources.
• Maintains work area in a clean and safe condition MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
  
  
  • General office equipment
  • Lifting equipment (Forklift, Dolly, Pallet Jack)
  • Material Handling/Pacing equipment.
  • Operates power tools, pneumatic nail guns.
    WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
    
    
    • Warehouse environment
    • Long periods of sitting, walking or standing
    • Able to left a minimum of 50 lbs.
    • Outdoor work in extreme heat, cold & humidity
    • Repeated stooping
    • Repeated or frequent stair climbing Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education:
      
      
      • High School Diploma or GED required Experience:
        
        
        • 2 years related experience which must include Inventory Control, Customer Service and Shipping.
        • 2 years minimum forklift experience (certification preferred) Computer Skills:
          
          
          • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explore Personal Skills:
            
            
            • Ability to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions and procedures without direct supervision.
            • Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Licensing:
              
              
              Must possess and retain a valid California drivers' license
