An Aviation Maintenance & Logistics Specialist position in Pasadena, CA recently opened up to support JPL/NASA. In this role you will support and coordinate the administrative aircraft, airborne and SUAV activities between JPL, the NASA Office of JPL Management and Oversight, Armstrong Flight Research Center Aircraft Operations management and NASA Headquarters. To be considered for this role, you must have a background in aircraft operations management and/or engineering with experience managing Commercial Air Services (CAS) contracts or relevant aviation-related experience. You must also be a US Citizen.Location: Pasadena, CA 91109Position: Engineering Technical Specialist IVPay Rate: $65/hr+ DOEDuration: 12 monthsFlexible work schedule: 9/80We do offer PTO, holidays, 401k, medical, dental, and visionResponsibilities:Support and coordinate the administrative aircraft, airborne or Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) activities between JPL, the NASA Office of JPL Management and Oversight, Armstrong Flight Research Center Aircraft Operations management and NASA Headquarters as delineated in JPL Rules, the Prime Contract and the Aircraft Operations Implementation Plan. Candidate should have a broad operational knowledge and experience in the functions of an aviation organization.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned:Support the development and maintenance of procedures for adherence to the delineated documentationMonitor and report metrics on the process platform approval through AFRC flight release and JPL Airborne Program OfficeProvide administrative support to Principle Investigators and engineers with the development, review and understanding of required documents to be delivered to AFRCCapture and maintain records as Projects go through the phased implementation approachMonitor the processes and identify process improvement opportunities, and the ability to monitor corrective actions through Internal Controls and ReportingSupport any related activities associated with Inter-Center Aviation Operations Panel (IAOP) assessment, other reviews and auditsEnsure compliance with NASA Aviation Safety Program, NASA AFRC airworthiness process and NASA aircraft management policies detailed in NASA Procedural Requirement 7900.3DUnderstanding and practical knowledge allowing for the tracking sUAS inventory.Requirements:Background in aircraft operations management and/or engineering with experience managing Commercial Air Services (CAS) contracts or relevant aviation-related experience.Knowledge of FAA processes and requirements.Ability to understand and interpret NASA Procedural Requirements.Must have strong time management skills.The ability to communicate effectively at all levels of personnel.Desired Skills:Good project management skills/experience (Certified Project Manager)At a minimum, a 7-year background check, education verification, employment verification, and drug screen will be conducted upon hire.
