Planner at Grace's Pasadena, TX, Specialty Catalyst plant, this
position will be a key member of the site's maintenance and
reliability team. As a Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible
for ensuring that all maintenance work performed is well-planned
and that all personnel, materials, equipment, tools, and services
have been identified and procured before the job begins. -
We're seeking a candidate with the aptitude to plan jobs with
varied crafts and specialties. Responsibilities
- Create detailed job plans in SAP for all notifications and
preventive maintenance orders generated. These plans should include
at a minimum, tasks by craft with number of personnel and estimated
durations, appropriate task sequencing and logic, identification of
specialty materials, equipment, and services, and supporting
documentation such as manuals, procedures, P&ID's, diagrams,
pictures, etc.
- Include reference information in the job plans such as pipe
specification, paint requirements, testing requirements, insulation
needs, etc.
- Ensure all planned work complies with current standards and
specifications.
- Work with engineering and technical experts as necessary to
develop job plans.
- Procure materials, equipment, and services for work orders in
accordance with company sourcing policies and procedures. Ensure
that service providers have current certificate of insurance and
other credentials to work on site. Participate in the bidding
process as necessary.
- Conduct pre-job review meetings with service contractors to
review job requirements as necessary.
- Review equipment history and incorporate findings into job
plans.
- Update job plans based on feedback from the craftsmen and
others regarding tasks, sequencing, tools, durations, etc.
- Provide feedback to maintenance engineer regarding recommended
changes to equipment bill of materials (BOM), maintenance
procedures, etc. Update BOM's as necessary.
- Report monthly on the work notification and planned
backlog.
- Perform weekly scheduling in SAP when the site Scheduler is out
of the office.
- Review the work notification backlog to remove duplicates and
to group notifications together that can be planned as a single
work order to optimize the use of resources.
- Engage in plant safety programs such as behavior-based safety
observations, 5S efforts, etc.
- Assist with site priority repairs and emergencies as necessary,
including nights and weekends.
- Work additional hours as necessary to ensure that deadlines and
commitments are met.
- Plan annual Turnaround (TAR) jobs.
-Physical Requirements and Environment
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse
weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme
temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment)
including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear,
steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face
respirator
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel,
crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.Required
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- 7+ years' experience in a craft role in an industrial
environment such, as petro-chemical, refinery, or related. Craft
roles include boilermakers, welder, pipefitter, millwrights,
instrumentation, and electrical technicians, etc.
- Must be able to read, understand, and apply technical
information from manuals, books, drawings, diagrams, etc, and
communicate effectively
- Must be able to use computers and software such as Microsoft
Office programs. Preferred Qualifications
